Meet Up: Navigating life

We have all learned that life is hard and not always fair. Throughout history, the North Star has served as a way for travelers to stay on their path and guide them to their destinations. As we journey through life we receive mixed messages from society and can find ourselves pushed off course by life’s obstacles, leaving one feeling confused and wanting to give up. This group is here to help those who seek direction by empowering them to meet their unique potentials. We will come together to share and discuss inner struggles and frustration within our lives and begin to work through them in a conscious way to bring light into the darkness within ourselves. So many of us simply exist within life, we do not experience it. We go about without a real sense of purpose, inner peace or authentic inner happiness. This group will serve as a way for people from all walks of life to experience support, bonding with other women and safe, compassionate exploration of problems and issues. We will experience healing through honesty, sharing and deep connection. This group will help to increase self-esteem, learn to manage anxiety and depression, stress management, anger management and cultivate creativity. This is a group for women who have a strong desire to get to know who they really are and to allow their selves to be and express who they are.

This group will meet at least twice per month in a confidential, private, and safe place.  It will be a social and peer support group for women living in the Atlanta and Chamblee Area.  It welcomes women from all backgrounds.  The group is free of charge and for adults only, ages 18 and up.  Please do not bring children.  Also, this group is not for the purposes of business networking so please do not promote your business.

The group is facilitated by Habiba Zaman. She is a Licensed Associate Professional Counselor who holds a Masters degree in Professional Counseling.  The topics of discussion will be determined by the participants, but among the possibilities are: Divorce Support & Recovery, Infertility, Career, Life Balance, Disordered Eating/Body Image, Health, Relationships, Parenting, Life Zamansitions, Mid-Life & Aging, Singleness, Single Motherhood, and more.

Lets get together and talk about the highs and lows of life; things that build us up and break us down, while we munch on snacks.  One of life’s most valuable lessons, one that takes too long to learn, is that life is hard. If we had our way, there would be no pain, things would go our way, we wouldn’t have to work as hard and we certainly wouldn’t…
